John McCain to conservative talk radio: ‘To Hell with them!’ [VIDEO]

By Matthew K. Burke / The Politistick

Republican Senator John McCain returned to the floor of the U.S. Senate on Tuesday following brain surgery to make his case for Republicans to compromise with the very same Democrats who destroyed health care in America by passing Obamacare.

McCain, 80, who was previously censored by the Arizona Republican Party for his “disastrous and harmful” liberal voting record, even though he claims to be a Republican, had especially strong words for those conservative talk radio hosts and commentators on the Internet who aim to hold him accountable, telling his colleagues on the Senate floor that they do not have the country’s best interests at heart and that that those “bombastic loudmouths” should go to “hell.”

While not mentioning the word “conservative” radio talk show hosts, since he was chastising those who criticize his continual compromise with Democrats, it’s very clear that’s exactly who McCain was talking about as leading talk radio hosts over the years like Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity have been justifiably sharp critics of McCain propensity to “cross the aisle” to vote with Democrats on growing government at the expense of the citizen.

McCain said that preserving the institution of the Senate “requires us to do something less satisfying than ‘winning,’ even when we must give a little to get a little.”

“While both sides denounced us for timidity for our failure to triumph, I hope we can again rely on humility on our need to cooperate on our dependence on each other to learn how to trust each other again.

And by doing so better serve the people who elected us — stop listening to the bombastic loudmouths on the radio and television and the Internet.

To hell with them!

They don’t want anything done for the public good. Our incapacity is their livelihood.”

Of course, Republicans never really “win,” at least from a conservative point of view. The size and scope of the federal government’s tentacles continue to expand regardless of which party is in control.
