Pima basketball teams take No. 3 rankings in respected NJCAA polls

The Pima Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams are rolling and the NJCAA is taking notice as it released the NJCAA Division II rankings on Tuesday.

The men’s basketball team earned their highest ranking in program history as they moved up three spots to No. 3. The Aztecs beat Scottsdale Community College and upset Division I Cochise College last week. The Aztecs have won nine straight and are now 14-1 overall and 6-1 in ACCAC conference play.

The women’s basketball team moved up one spot to claim the No. 3 ranking in their Division II poll. The Aztecs have won six of their last seven games. They beat Scottsdale Community College but fell to Division I Cochise College last week. They remain undefeated against NJCAA Division II teams. The Aztecs are 12-3 overall and 6-1 in ACCAC conference play.

The Aztecs were scheduled to play at Phoenix College on Wednesday. The women’s game will be at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game will follow at 7:30 p.m.
