The Arizona women’s soccer team has announced their game schedule for the spring semester Friday. The Wildcats will play a total of five matches. Three of those games will be at Mulcahy Stadium, against ASU, the RSL u14 Boys, and Grand Canyon University. The Cats will also face BYU in Glendale, Arizona and UTEP in El Paso, Texas. Admission to the three home games (ASU, RSL U14 Boys, GCU) will be free of charge and fans are encouraged to come out and support.
The spring schedule is as follows:
February 24th, 6 p.m. Arizona vs. ASU
March 25th, 1 p.m. Arizona vs. RSL U14 Boys
April 7th, 1 p.m. Arizona vs. BYU (At ASU West Campus)
April 14th, 1 p.m. Arizona vs. Grand Canyon University
April 21st, 1:30 p.m. Arizona at UTEP
The team will be facing some familiar opponents this spring. In the 2017 season they faced ASU and took a 2-1 victory thanks to a goal by Amanda Porter in the 75th minute. The Cats also have been up against GCU who they faced in their first exhibition match of this past season, and came out on top with a 3-0 score. This will not be BYU’s first trip to the desert, as this past fall they fell to Arizona 2-1. Their final match of the spring will take place against UTEP, who the Wildcats faced in their second exhibition match of the 2017 season and earned a 2-1 victory.
The Wildcats are coming off of a 11-5-4 (7-2-2 Pac 12) season this past fall. They also progressed to the second round of the NCAA tournament, and came in fourth in the Pac 12. They are looking to continue to improve and prepare for the 2018 season.
